Joseph Halachmi a retired film & tv director - producer and now a world renowed film & cinema hostorian with an Israeli Early Cinema speciality.

Halachmi is the son of early israely film director Chaim Halachmi & acctress Dvora Halachmi.

1953-1961 - “Israeli Motion Pictures Studios": Negative Inspector, Editor, Cinematographer and Director.
1961-1965 - Freelancer: Editor, Scriptwriter, and Educational Films Maker.
1965-1998 - ¬“Israeli Educational Television”: Director, Producer, Editor, Scriptwriter, and several managerial posts.
1966-1975 – Army Reserves Service: Combat Cinematographer for the IDF Spokesman Unit.

1995 – “No Matter What – Essays on the Beginnings of the Pre-State Israeli Film”.
2009 – "Fresh Wind", the story of the first Zionist propaganda film, 1899-1902, produced by Dr. Herzl.
Both books were published by "The Steven Spielberg Jewish Film Archive" in The Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
2014 – "The Tale of Deborah", Memories of Deborah Halachmi, a digital edition, by The Beit-Berl College in Israel.
All books are in Hebrew.
